 The Quest for Employee Engagement

Join Management Futures and McGraw-Hill for a half-day workshop and panel discussion to learn about the challenges and opportunities involved in bringing a coaching ethos to life within organisations.

The search for a “coaching culture” can evoke comparisons with the search for the Holy Grail – a subject of mythical quality and an object of desire that can prove maddeningly elusive in organisational reality. The two concepts also share the tantalising but appropriate promise of a never ending search, a journey that cannot be completed, only continued.

All competent learning professionals and HR experts know there is no quick and easy transition to a fully realised coaching culture: we recognise this involves much more than skills development alone. So, understanding as we do the advantages of embedding a coaching style within organisations, and that some organisations have made significant progress on their quest, what lessons can we learn about the most effective ways of going about it?

This event is aimed at bosses, HR Directors and Learning/OD Professionals: whilst we won’t promise to deliver alchemical transformation we will seek to provide and create important insight into the latest thinking, and a stimulus to pragmatic advances of practice. The session will be lead by Jenny Rogers, Phil Hayes and Sandra Grealy.

Participants can expect to benefit from:

  • Insights into research supporting the business case for developing a coaching  culture throughout organisations as part of an integrated staff engagement and wellbeing philosophy
  • Stories from the field that illustrate and exemplify what has worked well or less well in developing the potential of coaching inside organisations
  • Focus on success principles and winning approaches to growing a coaching culture
  • Opportunities for rich discussion with fellow professionals and thought leaders -and the chance to share collective wisdom
  • A paper produced post event highlighting the themes, discussion points and conclusions from the day to help consolidate learning
  • A copy of 'Leading and Coaching Teams' and 'Facilitating Groups' published by Open University Press
